Jim Estill, iotum Inc. Board of Directors Member, Appointed to Order of Ontario

Toronto, Ontario — December 14, 2016 10:00 A.M. — Jim Estill, CEO of Danby Group & Member of iotum Inc’s Board of Directors has been appointed to the Order of Ontario, “which recognizes individuals whose exceptional achievement in their field has left a lasting legacy in the province, Canada and beyond.”

Estill has been bringing his expertise in the technology industry to iotum Inc’s Board of Directors since 2013, is most known for his announcement late last year to donate up to $1.5 million to help 50 Syrian refugee families settle in Guelph, Ontario. Since then, he has been collaborating with several organizations as an effort to settle those families.

“It's the right thing to do,” said Estill in a recent interview with CBC News. “You see what's going on, it's a crisis and we're Canadian. We should do the right thing”.

According to its website, The Order of Canada is reserved for Ontarians from all fields of endeavors and backgrounds, whose excellence has left a lasting legacy in the province, Canada and beyond. Members of the Order are a collective of Ontario’s finest citizens, whose contributions have shaped – and continue to shape – the province’s history and place in Canada.

The Lieutenant Governor of Ontario and Chancellor of the Order of Ontario announced Estill’s appointment to the Order of Ontario on Wednesday, December 14th.

Estill will be bestowed the honor by The Lieutenant Governor with the other appointees to the Order of Canada during an investiture ceremony at Queen’s Park in June 2017.
